Three Models Cut From Runway For Refusing to Wear 10-inch Heels
Written by admin on January 17, 2010

Three high-fashion runway models were cut from Alexander McQueen’s show for refusing to strut in his now-infamous 10-inch-tall stiletto ‘Armadillo’ heels. Models Abbey Lee Kershaw, Natasha Poly, and Sasha Pivovarova refused to don the arduous ‘Armadillos’ and were thus cut from the runway show.

Some courageous celebrities have given the heels a try including Daphne Guinness and, not shockingly, Lady Gaga.

Abbey Lee Kershaw apparently learned her lesson; the model walked in McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2009 show strapped into a corset so tight she fainted almost immediately as she got off the runway.

“When she was coming to the end [of the runway], back near the [entrance] ramp, I could tell she was having difficulties, because her steps were getting shorter and shorter, they were more like baby steps. I was reading her face and I could see ’struggle’ all over it and I was thinking, ‘She’s not going to make it’.”
